Sarah Bennett sets new ladies 12g long break record and becomes the First Lady to achieve the Australian Skeet Grand Slam Award.
At the 2023 Australian Skeet Nationals, Sarah sets a new ladies 12g long break record shooting 230 straight.
Sarah shot in the Ladies Postal Team on Thursday afternoon winning the team high gun. Then the next day was the much sought after 12g National Title, which she went on to shoot a perfect 100 along with 5 other shooters; Michael Buttigieg, Andy Peter, Paul Saliba, Matt De Peaoli and Mark Corbett.
After 3 rounds on 25 there was only 3 left, Sarah, Michael and Paul.
Sarah then went on and made it around to station 6 where she finally dropped a target ending her long break and setting a new ladies record of 230
This has also put her in the record books as the First Lady to achieve the Australian Skeet Grand Slam Award.
For those that don’t know, to achieve the grand slam you have to shoot 200 straight in 12g, 100 straight in 20g and 100 straight in doubles.
Up until now only 13 people have accomplished this making Sarah the 14th person to qualify and the 1st lady to qualify.
