Austin Gibbes Attended his first Skeet Nationals

Austin Gibbes attended his first skeet nationals in 2024 and does what most skeet shooters only dream of.

After shooting 49 in the handicap Austin missed out on the shoot off as he is in AA grade, then the next day was the Commonwealth title with Austin coming in with a 99 with a combined score of 148/150 he qualified equal 4th in the Trans-Tasman postal team.

The next day was the main event, the 12g National title with Austin coming in again with another 99 which put him on 247/250 earning him the 3rd spot in the Glen Trophy team to head to New Zealand in 2025, also when adding his 20g score he also finished in 3rd position for the World skeet team to head to San Antonio for the world skeet championships at the end of the year.

And this isn’t the end of the story, the next day was the 100 target skeet doubles event with Austin finishing with a 92 this put him on a high gun score of 435/450 which finished him in the top ten, the all Australian team.

In summing up Austin made 4 Australian teams in one year.

Now thats something to be proud of!!!
